The next company you should know about that’s helping to create a better world is an e-bike company called Spinciti. The team is based in San Francisco, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Mexico City, Taiwan, and China. To get the ball rolling, the “new kid on the block” started an Indiegogo campaign for their Spinciti: Performance Road E-Bike – Supercharged, and they already received 974% funding!
In their words, it’s a “Next-Gen Commuter E-Bike, Scary Fast High-Performance, Lightweight, and has 50 Miles of Range.” You’ll be happy to hear that the Spinciti was developed from the ground up, and they didn’t leave any stone unturned in the process. The specs are up to par with some of the leading e-bikes on the market!

The ride is what can best be described as stable and comfortable. Although it doesn’t come with suspension, it’s relatively easy to weave around foreign objects in the road. You know, like the broken bottles, potholes and the like.
If the battery dies, the combination of a lightweight frame and eight gears on the top tier model will make it much easier to ride without power. A speed sensor comes standard on all models, but there is an option for a torque sensor. They’re typically found on higher-end bikes, so the fact that you can get one on the High Frame 350W/500W, and Low Frame 500W model is not something to glance over, but more on the motors shortly. The torque sensor alone makes the Spinciti e-bike not just affordable, but a high-end electric bike that can go up against the big guys in the bicycle industry.
Since your phone is probably always on you, the Spinciti App will fit in perfectly on your home screen. It puts a full fitness app in the palm of your hands. It also includes mileage tracking, equivalent steps, calories burned, power control, Strava uploading (make sure you mark it as an e-bike though), a built-in community, personalized challenges for you and your friends, and so much more!

Spinciti
As mentioned above, there are three different motors and two different frame styles. They both come in 250W, 350W, and 500W options. The top speed directly correlates with the size of the motor. 250W – 20mph, 350W – 25mph, 500W – 28mph. As for the drivetrain, Spinciti included a Shimano 6spd, 7spd, and 8spd with there respective tier levels. If you ask us, the 8 speed is a much better choice in case you forget to charge it or run out of juice. The disc brakes work very well on all models, but the hydraulic upgrade on the 350W and 500W will bring a bit more peace of mind with heavy braking.

On their Indiegogo page, Spinciti says that “Cycling is the means of transportation of the future. Many cities around the world are embracing this as the best way to go from point a to b inside a city (Amsterdam, Copenhagen). It is cheap, safe, and good to the environment. Also it is an excellent way to stay healthy and active.”

In case you’re wondering about the weight of the bikes, both models range between 47lbs and 52lbs depending on model specifications, components, etc. There’s a great sizing chart on their Indiegogo website that you can take a look at.
Overall, our experience with the Spinciti Performance E-Bike was great! We love how snappy it is, and that’s partly due to the included torque sensor. The design is modern and simple – red with black accents is our favorite – and it fits our varying heights as well.
