You ‘didn’t think we were talking about a real dolphin, did you? ‘We’re talking about the new Qualisports DOLPHIN. ‘It’s a 350W, 20inch folding e-bike with wide tires. Gone are the days of worrying about skinny tires on bumpy, LA roads. The ‘DOLPHIN’s tires ‘aren’t as wide as the 20 x 4.25″ fat tire BELUGA, but also not as small as the 20 x 1.95″ tires on the VOLADOR. ‘You’ll be cruising down the strand comfortably on 20 x 2.35″ tires.

Because the DOLPHIN is compact, you can easily fit a few in your RV, the back of an SUV, or in the trunk of your car. It folds effortlessly for ease of transportation. The Facts:
Although ‘it’s not as small as ‘it’s little brother NEMO, DOLPHIN is the most versatile and portable e-bike around! Made from 6061 Aluminum, and weighing in at only 50 lbs, ‘it’s incredibly lightweight for an e-bike! It packs down to 830mm*480mm*700mm too. You know, just in case you need to bring it in the elevator and store it under your desk at work, bring it on the train, bus, or keep it in the corner of a small apartment.
Power When You Need It
Five levels of pedal assist (PAS) complement the 350W motor for smooth power as you pedal. If ‘you’re running late for a meeting, the last thing you want to do is ride fast and show up sweaty. If your Sunday consists of a chill ride to the boat for a marine escape, then maybe ‘you’ll want to tone down the power a bit. ‘You’ll always be able to choose how fast you want to get from point A, to point B, and back.

Power: 350W motor only weighs 2.2kg. 40N.M torque at your disposal can be used to push you up an 18-degree incline, or more. With the built-in clutch system, you ‘won’t get any drag from the motor when pedaling without power. If you are even the slightest bit worried about getting stuck with a dead battery, ‘you’ll be happy with Samsungs 36V 14Ah battery. A full charge will get you 50+ miles of range using PAS (Pedal Assist) or about 30 miles on full throttle.
Versatility: Disc brakes are in! Say hello to the best stopping power for all weather conditions. Disc brakes are more efficient, and the massive 160mm rotors will stop on a dime. For added security, ‘there’s an e-bike safety lever that disengages the power when you brake.
Comfort: Pedal assist. Throttle on cruise control. Pure cycling. Whichever you prefer, The DOLPHIN can do it. One thing we really like at The Bike Shop California is the removable charging seat post. Not only does it house the battery, which gives you access to easy charging, but it adjusts so that anyone 5” to 6’3″ can ride it comfortably.
‘How’s the Ride?
Considering there ‘isn’t any suspension on the bike, ‘you’ll be surprised at how smooth it rolls over the cracks and bumps on the road. Some people may want to opt for a wider, more cushy saddle, but that depends on your riding preferences. For riding around town or going on short trips with the family, the DOLPHIN is perfect. Longer hauls may be a bit tougher considering the small, 20″” wheels. Luckily, they popped on a 7 speed Shimano drivetrain to keep you pedaling efficiently, at all times.
In our own tests, ‘we’ve noticed that this sporty, folding e-bike feels right at home around the streets of our Santa Monica and Culver City stores. It can tackle anything from the sandy bike paths on the beach to the steepest hill by the Santa Monica Airport.
